Piedmont Athens Regional joined the Piedmont system in October 2016, expanding the system’s footprint in northeast Georgia in line with our strategic growth initiatives. The 350-bed facility provides our communities with high quality patient and family-centered care, comprehensive cardiac, vascular and thoracic care, a neurosurgery unit, a stroke center, certified chest pain center and more.

For 2015-16, Piedmont Athens was recognized by U.S. News & World Report as number 10 in Georgia and as high performing in COPD and heart failure. In 2015, the hospital received the Women’s Choice award as America’s Best Hospital for Patient Safety, Obstetrics, Orthopedics, Heart Care and overall Patient Experience.
