Lead Rad Tech , full-time night shift , Piedmont Henry Hospital

JOB PURPOSE:
Leads Radiology technologists and support staff as it relates to operational policies and procedures. Operates diagnostic imaging equipment to make clinical diagnostic exams as directed by the Radiologist and performs routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices. Provides patient services using imaging modalities. Works closely with department supervisors to ensure that the department is adequately staffed for 24/7 coverage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides patient care and maintains technical proficiency.
2. Applies a comprehensive understanding of a range of processes, procedures, systems and concepts within own technical/specialty area to identify and solve issues that may arise in the area.
3. Provides input on imaging staff members annual performance reviews.
4. Composes, monitors, and updates Imaging staff schedules and serves time keeper.
5. Assists in the composition and delivery of ongoing continuing education for imaging staff.
6. Provides new employee orientation.
7. Complies with departmental protocols and completes necessary documentation.

Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
2 years minimum experience as a Radiologic Technologist
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (R).
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
BLS certified.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
1. Must be able to perform quality examinations in accordance with all standards.
2. Must be able to provide other technologists instruction on the same equipment.
3. Must deliver SAFE care in accordance with the Alwaysafe program.
4. Must use AIDET with every encounter and be proficient with service recovery.
