JOB PURPOSE:
The Senior Informatics Specialist works to improve Revenue Cycle efficiency, automation and maximize the current revenue cycle technology toolkit. This role understands the capabilities and general application of Epic functionality, including revenue cycle, supporting clinical functions, and supporting bolt-on applications. Keeping current on Epic capabilities within the revenue cycle, as well as, supporting acquisition and integration activities are functions of this role. The Senior RC Informatics Specialist recommends technology enhancements & optimizations that will positively impact the Revenue Cycle and help Piedmont Healthcare (PHC) operate according to best practice, industry benchmarks and meet A/R performance goals and productivity. The Senior RC Informatics Specialist will work to improve and implement internal controls across the revenue cycle technology footprint and will work closely with IT on interface and system issues as required to improve the flow of data. The Senior RC Informatics Specialist plans, executes and monitors the implementation of technical systems, software, hardware or solutions specific to Revenue Cycle. Evaluates client needs, develops configurations that support business processes. Provides training and end-user support during and after the implementation process. Completes the scoping of projects or developing requirements documentation.


Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Health Information Systems, Informatics, Healthcare Management, or closely related field.
In lieu of degree, six (6) years of relevant work experience will be accepted in addition to the experience requirement.


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Three (3) years of work experience in revenue cycle, informatics, healthcare technology, or a closely related field is required.
(If no degree, a total of nine (9) years of experience required).


MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
None.


ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Epic certification in Clinical or Rev Cycle application preferred.
Working knowledge and subject matter expertise in the areas assigned.
Project management experience a plus.
