Description

JOB PURPOSE:
Manages all Diagnostic Imaging technicians, functions and activities within the assigned Piedmont
Healthcare facility or facilities, including personnel management, regulatory compliance, customer
service, and budget control. Ensures Diagnostic Imaging clinical equipment is repaired and maintained in
the most cost effective manner and that it is accurate for clinical diagnosis. Responsible for EOC
committee reports, surveys and inspections from regulatory agencies. Assists with aligning standard
processes across the Piedmont Healthcare system.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinates projects and/or equipment moves with vendors and other departments and monitors
for completion.
• Reviews project and construction quotes and works directly with vendors and/or project
managers. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of new trends, technology, and methods to ensure
effective and competitive services.
• Reviews and manages workforce to meet quality standards, staffing levels and training
• Assessing and coordinating training as identified to support the department/employee needs.
• In partnership with Senior Director of Biomedical Engineering, initiates and/or reviews
departmental / system policies and procedures and ensures staff compliance.
• Reviews reports and tracking to review staff productivity and monitor goals of department.
• Work with other departments regarding opportunities for improvement, new technology and
services.
• Works with multivendor contract to ensure timely completion of service/PM’s and follow up
• Identifies deficiencies and ensures appropriate follow up and/or service as required
• Ensures appropriate tracking for timely repairs and turn-around of work orders
• Ensures timely completion of all services, prioritization of the workand effective interaction with
other departments.
• Provides appropriate reports for the system safety committee meetings.

Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems or related field or eight years of experience within
the field of Biomedical Engineering.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Eight (8) years of experience required within the field as a Biomedical Engineering Technician and a
minimum of three (3) years working within the specialty of Diagnostic Imaging.
