Performance Improvement manages a range of projects critical to providing high quality, safe and cost-effective care for our patients. Specific areas of focus include inpatient length of stay, readmissions, operational throughput, and publicly reported programs/metrics (Leapfrog).
The Performance Improvement (PI) Coordinator works with and under the direction of the senior leadership team, as well as with department leaders and frontline staff to achieve project goals. The PI Coordinator is responsible for the creation of project plans in collaboration with the PI Manager and key stakeholders. He/She manages the successful execution of project plans, identifies barriers to plan progression, and regularly communicates progress using effective and professional visuals/materials.
Using a data driven approach to problem identification, process measure design and monitoring, the PI Coordinator is knowledgeable of the data resources available in the organization and applies the optimal source and analytic approach to project work. The PI Coordinator plays a critical role in change management and the adoption of performance improvement methods across the organization by demonstrating methods and tools in daily project work and by co-facilitating the Green Belt course.
JOB PURPOSE:
Coordinating department wide performance improvement activities and reporting the results of the activities as appropriate. Acts as a facilitator and educator for PI Teams and related PI activities, collects and analyzes measurement data making recommendations for hospital process improvement.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or a related field from an accredited college or
university required.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
2-4 years of relevant work experience. Work experience in Healthcare setting preferred.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
If an RN, Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Works effectively with others, possessing tact, discretion, and diplomacy.
• Leadership and teaching ability.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Recognizes the importance of being a role model for others.
• Knowledge of Performance Improvement/Opportunity Management Model.
