JOB PURPOSE:
This position is responsible for the supervision of the Payroll Analysts in the processing of all aspects of Piedmont’s payroll. This position will be the escalation point for all issues and concerns from within the team and from employees and managers at the various entities. In addition to supervising the daily operations, this position is responsible for fulfilling the various strategic analytic needs of various groups including decision support, productivity, HR, and Executive leaders. This position will be responsible for managing, coaching and developing Payroll Analysts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide direction and assist team members in their day-to-day activities. 2. Plan and allocate work while providing support, coaching and mentoring to the team.
3. Ensure consistency of team output and performance in line with SLA’s. 4. Oversees the development, review and distribution of management reports.
5. Develop strong business partnerships with client counterparts in Human Resources, Payroll Operations, IS, and Finance.
6. Serves as the payroll analytics subject matter expert in the development and implementation of dashboards and reports needed to support stakeholders
7. Respond to escalated issues from team, business partners, employees, and external clients, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding payroll and accounting issues.
8. Proactively seek and identify ways to improve the payroll function using analytics.
9. Provides guidance on opportunities to enhance payroll analytics at PHC with a focus on analytics that will reduce errors, improve efficiency of the payroll function, increase accuracy, and strengthen controls and audit results
10. Analyzes reports and data, prepares complex summaries of information, and presents summarized information and recommendations to others.
11. Leads and manages the prioritization of reporting and analytics projects and requirements.
12. Assist in the implementation and enhancement of payroll systems as required
13. Assist with special projects as needed and other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources or related field, or six (6) years of equivalent work experience required.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Five (5) years of progressive payroll processing experience. Prior experience using the PeopleSoft HCM module or similar (e.g. Oracle, SAP, Lawson, etc.). In-depth knowledge of payroll processing within multiple integrated systems required. Experience working with Kronos time-keeping system preferred.
(If no degree, a total of eleven (11) years of experience required.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Certified Payroll Professional preferred
Experience working in healthcare preferred.
