Description
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Ensuring established operational quality and performance standards are maintained at all times by employees within HIM Services and that HIM functions are consistent/standard across the system in accordance with established business objectives and applicable regulatory requirements.
Requirements
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High School graduate or GED -OR-
Associate’s Degree and one (1) year experience -OR-
Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management in lieu of experience.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Three (3) years of experience in health information management in an acute care setting with a HS diploma.
Associate’s Degree and one (1) year experience -OR-
Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management in lieu of experience.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
None.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior experience using Epic version 2010 or greater is preferred.
Prior experience with electronic document management systems is desired.
Extensive knowledge of HIPAA regulations and state and federal laws regarding release of information is a plus.
