Description

JOB PURPOSE: Departmental communication and administrative clerical support functions complying
with all HIPAA guidelines, hospital policies and medical records. To include but not be limited to the
coordination and distribution of departmental telephone activities, physician communication needs and
support staff functions. Unit Secretary-Imaging promotes high quality patient services by maintaining all
patient records in the radiology file room. The responsibility of all aspects of the file room, such as, but
not limited to, film and jacket retrieval, and combining records.
 


Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High school diploma or equivalent.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: None
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW: N/A
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
1 year previous experience in customer service preferred
Basic knowledge of medical terminology. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English
language. Must possess excellent skills in telephone communications; courteously and effectively with
physicians, patients, and other health care professionals. Customer service and organizational skills are
also required. Must have basic computer skills and ability to learn departmental computer systems to
include but not be limited to EPIC and PACS as it relates to departmental procedural functions and
patient activity. Must be able to make sound independent judgments in the absence of supervision with
multi-task capabilities and have professionalism to work with radiologists, physicians, physician’s offices,
and interdepartmental staff.
