Shift/Schedule: Full-time
JOB PURPOSE: Performs and leads modality daily operations and provides leadership relative to the assigned area. Promotes and advocates imaging services by remaining abreast of the latest changes in technology and equipment. The Lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist ensures accreditations standards are maintained as well as performs a variety of tasks involving the operation of nuclear medicine equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Coordinates patient flow and provides guidance to staff technologists
2. Provides patient care
3. Provides high quality images
4. Performs image file management in PACS
5. Directs daily departmental operations
6. Oversees orientation and continuing education programs for employees
7. Directs and manages personnel to include staffing schedules and annual evaluations
8. Manages supplies and contains costs
9. Promotes customer service excellence
10. Performs all accreditation responsibilities required by the American College of Radiology
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine program accredited by either the Joint Review Committee on Education Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology (JRCNMT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Four years of imaging technical experience
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Registered nuclear technologist with either the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (Nuclear) ARRT (N) or the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB-CNMT).
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
BLS Certified
Possesses a thorough knowledge of radiation safety guidelines and radiopharmaceuticals as needed to perform and process Nuclear Medicine examinations.
Evidence of leadership, critical problem-solving skills, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
Experience in leadership of personnel.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements
