Description

JOB PURPOSE:
Planning, organizing, directing and monitoring all activities of the Dietary department in accordance with established rules, regulations, procedures, and standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Setting the strategic direction of the department.
2. Developing annual capital and operating budgets and executing departmental goals and objectives.
3. Overseeing and ensuring the Dietary department maintains a quality operating environment.
4. Directing and evaluating activities of department employees by managing personnel and provide leadership through effective guidance, feedback, and delegation.
5. Ensures and advocates excellence in customer service values.
6. Serves as a resource to clinical managers, operational managers, and supervisors.
7. Manages Dietary department as appropriate to accommodate organizational demand for retail services.
8. Directs and manages daily operations of Dietary department as appropriate to optimize financial performance of the department.
9. Seeks to enhance the community value of the hospital.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
• Knowledge of basic Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of CBORD, Micros, and Postec systems is beneficial
• Knowledge of operating budgets
• Strong supervisory, leadership and coaching skills
• Ability to compose written communications and possess strong verbal skills


Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
HS Diploma or GED Equivalent.


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
7 years of experience in food and/or nutrition within healthcare, education, dining, or related field. Of those seven years, three years of leadership required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Food Services Management, Hospitality Management, Business Management or related field preferred. Hotel and/or restaurant management experience preferred.
