Ambulatory Vascular Surgery Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner needed for Piedmont Heart Institute

 

Piedmont Heart Institute is currently recruiting for a Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to join our Vascular Surgery Team. This is a Monday-Friday ambulatory position with the future potential for hospital responsibilities. This position is expected to cover multiple satellite clinics, to include but not limited to, Blairsville, Canton, Ellijay, Jasper, and others.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ambulatory care responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    1. Assesses patient and performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist physician in diagnosing medical and surgical problems and prescribes necessary treatment and services for quality patient care.
    2. Takes patient histories, conducts physical examinations, writes progress notes, prepares patient workups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings, obtains psychosocial history relevant to patient care, and assumes responsibility for developing therapeutic relationships with patients.
    3. Orders and schedules laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures. Explains necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedure(s) to the patient, patient’s family, and staff.

 

 

  1. Inpatient care responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    1. Provides direct clinical services for pre-operative and post-operative surgery patients within institutional guidelines and utilizing evidence-based clinical practice standards under the supervision of the patient’s physician.
    2. Obtains patient health histories and complete physical examinations during admissions and consultations and completes discharge summaries when appropriate.
    3. Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests, explaining the necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of procedure(s) to patients, patient’s family, and staff.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

PA:  Graduate of a Physician Assistants program with current license for the Georgia State Composite Board

 

Or

 

NP:  Graduate from a school of nursing with current Georgia license for Advanced Practice Nursing and a Master’s degree in Nursing
