JOB PURPOSE:
The Performance Improvement Lead is responsible for facilitating/leading performance improvement initiatives, supporting Piedmont’s quality and safety strategic priorities, such as Leapfrog Hospital Safety grades, Clinical Governance Councils, “Zero Harm” efforts, or any other improvement priorities, as they arise. The Lead evaluates the current state of a process, using quantitative and qualitative tools, and collaborates with clinical leaders, senior administrators, and frontline staff, from multiple disciplines, to implement and monitor improvement interventions. The Performance Improvement Lead is responsible for timely execution and attaining performance targets, and should be prepared to provide project status updates to key stakeholders and leaders as requested. Must be goal-oriented, data-driven, and demonstrate critical thinking skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Employs Piedmont’s performance improvement framework (a combination of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies) to drive improvements in existing and new processes and/or systems.
2. Facilitates multidisciplinary team meetings, to define, analyze, design, and implement processes that will attain the desired outcome.
3. Maps key processes to reduces waste, inefficiencies, and downtime.
4. Develops detailed and thorough project plans, which can be communicated effectively with audiences at all levels of the organization.
5. Utilizes strong analytical and interpretive skills to develop effective processes that will result in optimal outcomes.
6. May be asked to manage multiple projects at one time.
7. Prepares presentations for multiple levels of audiences that are succinct, synthesize information and offer conclusions and opportunities.
8. Assists with special projects.
9. Handoff improvements to operations as standard work and monitors spread across the system.

Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Nursing, Healthcare/Business Administration or a closely related field is required.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
One (1) year of work experience in clinical healthcare operations, performance/process improvement, project management and analysis or a closely related field is required.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
If candidate is an RN, a current license in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in a healthcare related field preferred.
Previous experience in quality/process improvement preferred.
Certification in Lean, Six Sigma or CPHQ preferred.
