JOB PURPOSE:
The Senior Business Analyst will be a member of the Strategic Planning team and work alongside leaders and key stakeholders to achieve Piedmont’s strategic and operational goals. The analyst will provide support for high-level clinical service line priorities, and will be responsible for advancing analytic and reporting capabilities to support strategic priorities. This may include, but will not be limited to, designing and producing reports and dashboards to measure performance, identifying volume and industry trends, and creating geographic maps. The analyst also partners with System and hospital leadership and key stakeholders to develop other tools, resources, and presentations to support the achievement of strategic and performance improvement initiatives. A successful Senior Business Analyst will possess and demonstrate strong analytical ability, team collaboration, and strong communication skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs volume analysis and identifies trends or issues for leadership consideration.
2. Create visualizations (e.g., maps, charts, graphs) to summarize trends and key findings
3. Designs, builds and delivers new reports and/or dashboards to measure progress towards goals and KPIs.
4. Provides consultative, technical and decision-making support to executive management for strategic development and project management initiatives.
5. Collaborates with senior leadership for small and mid-sized projects while building strong cross-functional relationships to ensure that all stakeholders are appropriately engaged.
6. Presents and communicates in a professional and effective manner.
7. Leverages decision support systems, such as financial, market databases and other internal comparative databases to assist corporate and entity management in evaluating potential business opportunities.
8. Participates on assigned committees, as needed.
9. Develops and manages effective working relationships with other departments, groups and personnel with whom work must be coordinated or interfaced.

Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business or related field.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Four (4) years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree or two (2) years of experience with a Master’s degree.
Experience in a healthcare organization or a healthcare consulting practice involving project management, consulting and analysis, business development or a closely related field is required.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
None.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree preferred.
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Tableau experience preferred.
Experience with and/or aptitude for identifying strategic implications based on market data and reports.
Must be able to work effectively with all levels of management and executive staff, possessing tact, discretion and diplomacy.
Ability to determine best course of action for project work, projection coordination and ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Knowledge of the dynamics and trends in health care.
Ability to work on multiple projects at one time in complex environment.
