APP Neurosurgery

Piedmont Healthcare is recruiting for a Physician Assistant to join a Neurosurgical practice at Piedmont Eastside. This position works 5 days per week in support of neurosurgical practice. 

 

In this role you will:

  • Perform first OR assist duties, hospital rounds, and inpatient consultations.
  • Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations and record data in patient’s medical record in ambulatory practice. Clinical responsibilities require thorough attention to detail.
  • Evaluate and treat patients to achieve optimal patient care.
  • Write progress notes; prepare patient work-ups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings.
  • Develop plans of care that minimize complications and successfully troubleshoot problems when they arise. Apply preventative and alternative treatment strategies for possible procedural complications.
  • Complete pre-op appointments for all surgical patients, work with supervising physician to ensure all required labs, clearances and testing is satisfactorily complete well before surgery.
  • Manage first call when requested by your supervising physician.

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

3-5 years of Neurosurgical experience with a high degree of clinical judgment

Minimum Qualifications

Masters, Bachelors Degree from an Accredited PA program and National Board Certification
