Description

JOB PURPOSE:
Provide oversight and management of construction related projects for Piedmont Atlanta Hospital (PAH). Leads all discovery efforts, renovations, equipment installation, or other projects/initiatives. Will partner with key leadership to establish scope, priorities, goals, objectives, schedule, and budget. Will determine resource allocation for efficient and effective delivery of all projects on time, within budget, and of good quality. Manage the onboarding process for all contractors and sub-contractors which includes ensuring they adequately understand PAH’s policies and procedures. Provide regular project status updates to stake holders and hospital leadership.


MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or closely related field or in lieu of degree, six (6) years work experience in Healthcare Construction Management, engineering or closely related field in addition to the minimum experience required.


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Five (5) years of progressive experience as Superintendent, Resident Engineer, Program Manager, Project Manager and/or Construction Manager. If substituting experience in lieu of a bachelor degree, a total of eleven (11) years experience is required.


MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW: None.


ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
A professional license or credential consistent with the work is preferred (CHC, PE, PMP, CCM, or LEED AP BD C).
Strong estimating capabilities and project-planning experience.
Hospital Construction Management experience is preferred.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Plan, estimate, schedule, and oversee project implementation through completion of project.
2. Assures the timely completion of construction related projects.
3. Coordinates the solicitation of professional service contracts such as project management, architect, or engineer.
4. Works with design team, stake holders, leadership, and/or consultants to resolve project issues.
5. Advise leadership on code compliance and regulatory issues related to construction and renovation.
6. Prepares and reviews complex statements of work, project specifications, requests for proposals, invitation for bids, and related solicitation documents.
7. May serve as the contract administrator and/or senior project manager on construction projects under charge.
8. Review and validate applicable construction work authorizations, change orders, and contracts.
9. Provide leadership in project safety, quality, and infection prevention.
10. Development and maintenance of policies, procedures, and design/construction standards to ensure conformance with design criteria and compatibility with existing facility features.
11. Prioritize construction projects by evaluating resource allocation, urgency, and impact to hospital operations.
12. Works with PAH leadership and stakeholders to ensure all applicable parties are aware of construction related operations impacts.
13. Creates, maintains, and updates project documentation including work plans, project schedules, status reports, budget reports, and issue logs.
14. Assists with the development of annual PAH capital budgets related to construction, renovations, and equipment replacement.

• Demonstrated proficiency with the following computer applications: Microsoft Office, Flowchart/Visio, and Database Applications.
• Data analysis and PC software, including presentation software, spreadsheets, and Word processing.
• Advanced computer skills.
