Shift/Schedule: PRN
JOB PURPOSE:
Developing and implementing cardiac rehab treatment plans and providing cardiac education to patients and families. Able to perform patient assessment, exercise supervision and deliver emergency medical care utilizing established protocols for adolescent, adult and geriatric cardiac patients.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Master’s degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Human Performance, Adult Health & Fitness with concentration in cardiac health or a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Human Performance, Adult Health & Fitness with concentration in cardiac health required.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Minimum of one year’s experience required.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
BLS certified. ACLS to be successfully completed within 90 days of employment.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs patient assessments.
2. Develops treatment plans and exercise prescriptions.
3. Supervises exercise classes per protocol.
4. Educates patients and families appropriately based on diagnosis and need for lifestyle modification.
5. Measures quality outcomes.
6. Participates in rotational training of new staff and student interns.
7. Functions as a member of the Cardiac Rehab team.
