Operating Room Educator / Surgical Services Educator - Full Time - ***UP TO $7.5K SIGN ON BONUS AVAILABLE*** Piedmont Eastside

Serves as clinical expert providing education, research, coaching, direct care, consultation, leadership collaboration and ethical decision making for patients and nursing. Serves as a change agent and promotes quality through the utilization of nursing expertise. Provides clinical care as needed when census demands. Communicates patient care, departmental issues, and staff concerns to leader(s) as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Nurse Educator serves as an advanced practitioner.
2. Coordinates unit level educational activities.
3. Operating Room Educator promotes the clinical competency through the educational development of the nursing staff.
4. Serves as a resource and a role model for the nursing and ancillary staff on the assigned unit.
5. Serves as a consultant.
6. Surgical Services Educator acts as system leader.
7. Participates in the healthcare education process of patients and family.
8. Conducts, Facilitates, and Utilizes research to foster evidence-based practice.
9. Promotes professional development.
10. Operating Room Nursing Educator assists clinical manager, as necessary, to ensure most efficient use of staffing plan.
11. Clinical Instructor monitors census and appropriately anticipates the need to assume clinical role as needed.
12. Promptly reports issues to clinical manager, with suggestions for resolution.
13. Promotes customer satisfaction by responding to service issues in a timely and effective manner.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
• Skill and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in-writing.
• Skill and ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to work as a member of a team.
• Skill and ability in Microsoft Office applications.

Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Two (2) years of Operating Room nursing experience.


MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.


ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
BLS certification required.
Advanced certification in field of specialty (AORN).
Demonstrated clinical competency.
