Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides performance feedback for Device Clinic personnel.
2. Provides evaluation and device management to patients under the supervision of a physician.
3. Provides assistance in training to facilitate ongoing development of newly onboarding personnel.
4. Assess wounds post device implant to ensure that the incision is healing appropriately.
5. Educates patients and families regarding device function, clinic follow-up scheduling and device home monitoring.
6. Ensures correct billing and coding of device checks.
7. Assist in the facilitation and support of an ICD patient support group.
8. Maintain and complete daily tasks delegated by team members within the EP department.


Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
A certificate of completion from an approved cardiac device technical school that provides a formal curriculum of education and training in cardiac pacing, defibrillation, cardiac resynchronization therapy and electrophysiology OR a minimum of 2 years of experience in the field of cardiac pacing or electrophysiology in the ambulatory (outpatient) setting may be substituted for the formal education training program.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
One (1) year of EP clinical experience as a Cardiac Device Specialist.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
None.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Certified Clinical Device Specialist (CCDS) through Heart Rhythm Society within 24 months of hire strongly preferred.
Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS) certification by International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) preferred.
Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) preferred.
