LOCATION: Piedmont Eastside
JOB PURPOSE:
The Network Engineer’s role is to support the stable operation of the Piedmont Healthcare computer network. The person will perform basic installation, configuration and maintenance, and document all network hardware, software, and communication links while ensuring minimal network downtime. The person will also perform the basic diagnosis, resolution and documentation of hardware and software network problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training and support where required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists with support to network infrastructure initiatives in the areas of preventative maintenance, configuration back-ups, capacity planning, network redundancy, and disaster recovery.
2. Provides basic network administration and assists with complex network administration.
3. Monitors network infrastructure with some guidance.
4. Updates network documentation both written and network diagrams.
5. Performs installations of new facilities with some guidance and monitors par levels of equipment.
6. Performs maintenance and support our production environments through moves, adds, and changes.
7. Assist with the maintenance of security in the network architecture by following Piedmont Healthcare standard policies and procedures pertaining to this area.
8. Evening and weekend on-call support via remote assistance and possible onsite support. Occasional travel in the Atlanta area may be required; you must be willing to travel and possess a valid driver's license.
9. Keep current on new and innovative computing technologies.
10. Promotes corporate integrity through compliance with the Piedmont Healthcare Corporate Compliance Program.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES Certifications – Cisco Certified Network Analyst (CCNA) is required. Two additional years of
progressive work experience in this area may replace the certificate requirement.
Decision Making – Able to make guided decisions using provided information, and some research, with consultation from others. Scope at team level. Able to provide input into decisions impacting Piedmont services.
Analysis and Problem Solving – Able to analyze a simple situations and determine solutions based on provided information and guidance, with some individual research. Scope at individual or team level.
Communication – Able to communicate ideas and information to team and customers using a variety of media. Good written, verbal, and presentation skills at peer, customer, and leadership level. Able to work within ITIL and PMI frameworks.
Teamwork and Customer Service – Completes tasks given to accomplish group goal, functions as team member. Is polite, fair, and tactful when working with others, and responds in a timely manner.
Fiscal Responsibility - Utilizes Piedmont resources responsibly and cost efficiently. Able to offer suggestions for improved costs savings.
Process Adherence – Adheres to all defined organizational processes.
Time Management – Able to make effective use of time with little direction and priority guidelines.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field required.
In lieu of degree, four (4) years of relevant work experience will be accepted in addition to the experience requirement.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Two (2) years of work experience including hands-on knowledge of the installation, implementation, and maintenance of Cisco networking equipment is required.
(If no degree, a total of six (6) years of experience required.)

None.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Cisco Certified Network Analyst (CCNA) is preferred.
